Can I get a grant for a stairlift from City of Edinburgh Council?
Yes. City of Edinburgh Council funds stairlift installations through the Scheme of Assistance for eligible residents. If your Occupational Therapist confirms that a stairlift is necessary for your safety at home, the council must provide a grant covering at least 80% of the cost. Those on qualifying benefits may receive 100% funding. Contact the council's housing adaptations team or ask your GP to refer you to an Occupational Therapist.
Do stairlifts work in Edinburgh tenements and older properties?
